How to get the most out of video
We want you to get the best out of unique recruitment service. For jobseekers we want to show you in the best possible way that allows you to really stand out from the crowd and show your real self.
For employers we want to help you get closer to the right candidates as quickly and efficiently as possible. We’re trying to save you time (and money) when you recruit and we want to help you find employees in a new and original way, perhaps help you find your next star by approaching focusing on personality rather than just qualification.
Our aim is to maximise the quality of videos being recorded and viewed by both candidates and employers. Try these tips:
For Employers
- When watching videos use good speakers or better still headphones as they reduce background noise and helps you concentrate on what the candidate is saying.
- Keep the screen away from direct or strong sunlight and make sure you have a broadband connection so the video doesn’t freeze or stutter.
For Candidates
- Minimise background noise, turn off TVs and radios so that we can hear what you are saying.
- Don’t sit in extreme lighting condition. Too bright or very dark lighting will give poor results and be distracting to employers, watch out for shadows and ‘hot spots’ (reflections on your skin or glasses) and check the sound recording levels are set correctly.
- Check what’s in the background for your video, a plain wall or curtain is better than clutter or a busy office; try to make it as professional as possible.
Good video needs a good internet connection, a normal home broadband (ADSL) connection is fine, but experience tell us that mobile internet connections are just not fast enough for video.
