Canterbury Christ Church University Enhances Student Employability With Video Recruitment

To help its students get ahead in the employment race, Canterbury Christ Church University is the latest institution to join the University Partnerships Scheme from video recruitment specialist Meet The Real Me.

The scheme, which is specifically designed for students seeking to enter the graduate jobs market, has seen the university's Employability and Careers Service link with Meet The Real Me's signature video CV technology. This new service allows students to launch and manage their own job campaigns online and create a V.I.P (Video Interview Profile), which includes a guided video CV to highlight their personality and character, posted alongside a detailed personal profile including qualifications, skills, experience and a traditional written CV.

James Corbin, Deputy Manager of Employability and Careers Services said: “We are very pleased to be working with Meet the Real Me on this exciting alternative to the usual paper CV and application form process. It's a great opportunity for our students to stand out from the crowd in this difficult employment climate."

Local and national employers who subscribe to this service will be able to view student profiles on MeetTheRealMe.com and candidates can even use the video service to respond directly to employers' questions. Profiles can be updated at any time, giving students a flexible and effective way to connect with employers, and secure that all-important graduate job.

Dr. Martin Patrick, University Partnerships Manager at Meet The Real Me says: “Our careers team has more than ten years' experience working with students on employability issues, and we are delighted to welcome Canterbury Christ Church University to the scheme.

“New installations at a number of partner universities confirm that student employability remains high on the agenda in both further and higher education, and proves that education establishments are embracing new initiatives to help give their students the best possible start in the world of work.”

With online communication such an important part of everyday life, video is the perfect way for students to make the most of familiar online tools in their job hunt. Canterbury Christ Church's students will be able make the most of the continued support of their employability and careers staff whilst benefiting from the Meet The Real Me service. This will enable them to stand out from the crowd and showcase their qualities and communication skills that are hard to convey on paper CVs and written applications.
