Youth Unemployment Hits Record High
Figures published recently by the Office for National Statistics have shown that one in five 16- to 24-year-olds are not in work. Although this marks a record high for youth unemployment, video recruitment experts at Meet The Real Me remain positive.
Company director Marc Fels explains: “Despite the doom and gloom in the headlines, there are some great jobs out there for entry-level job seekers. Hirers are simply looking for candidates who stand out from the crowd and can really shine against the competition, so finding the right method to present yourself, such as video CV, can be the key to landing that dream job.
“At Meet The Real Me we have an excellent success rate in helping entry-level candidates get noticed in front of leading employers, providing them with a new, free platform to showcase their individuality, charisma and confidence.”
By creating a full video profile (including qualifications, experience and a video CV), candidates can be viewed by thousands of potential employers, apply for specific jobs and even respond to bespoke interview questions.
Fels continues: “Using video allows employers, and us as recruiters, to get a feel for the real personality behind the paper - something that is near impossible to achieve by looking at a traditional CV alone. In today's hugely competitive market, video represents a fantastic new approach for entry-level job seekers and ups the success rate considerably.”
