University of Derby

Welcome to University of Derby

Welcome from the University of Derby, Career Development Centre on Meet The Real Me. By creating your e-me, your on-line video CV, you can launch your job campaign, and check out registered recruiters. At the same time potential recruiters can look at you. If you want to practice your e-me, and get feedback before you launch it, the Career Development Centre can give you tips and advice on how to shine, present the real you, show your potential and be noticed by graduate employers.

This is a unique and simple way in which you can put yourself in front of employers. Why not give it a go? If in doubt come and talk to us. We are on the lower ground floor of the Library at Kedleston Road and in the Dome at Buxton

If students need your advice they can email you a link to their e-me and you can study it and advise them how to improve it if necessary.

  • Translating their social network knowledge into communications skills
  • Using their student union activities as professional attributes

You can . . .

Support their job campaign

When an employer begins the online selection process be sure to discuss those specific questions with teaching staff, careers and peers.

Students should consider how they can evidence their academic and professional experience.

If your university or college have built-in employability modules you have undertaken, relate it specifically to the job you are applying for. Personal tutors or careers staff will gladly help.
